Player of the Year - Men
National Paper Industries is the proud sponsor of the DDGA Mens Player of the Year.
The Player of the Year is for all members of Clubs within the DDGA. It is structured so that every player has a chance of being successful in the competition, as it is based on handicap.
Throughout the year, at each of the DDGA District Tournaments, the top ten players with the best 18 hole nett score are awarded points; and these points accumulate during the year. The winner of the 18 hole nett score will be awarded 10 points, 2nd place will be awarded 9 points, and so on for the top 10 players. If more than one player has the same score, the points will be totalled and then divided by the number of players.
The points will be multiplied by 1.5 for the following events:
DDGA Mens 4BBB Stroke Championship
DDGA District Championships
In the DDGA Mens 4BBB Stroke, both players in the team will receive the full number of points (e.g. if the team comes 3rd they will receive 12 points each). In 36 hole events (i.e. Woodend and Trentham), only the first 18 holes nett score will count.
Only DDGA Club Members are eligible to be awarded points in the district events.
Our sponsor, National Paper Industries, has generously donated prizes for the top three players with the most accumulated points at the end of the year, as follows:
1st Prize - $300 2nd Prize - $150 3rd Prize - $50
